Next in the lineup is the "Samurai" with Captain Jermey Blunt who had about 16 dolphin one of which weighed around 20 pounds. "Moore Bills" with Captain Rob Skillman had an abundance of dolphin today, we estimate there was about 30 all together which took two carts to get them to the weigh station. Another white marlin was released on the "Jade II" with Captain Ed Kauffmen today. In addition to his white marlin he managed to kill about 8 dolphin, 1 yellowfin, and 1 longfin. Another substancial size tuna was brought tot the docks today by Captain Steve on the "Game Over." Shark master Captain Mark Sampson released what was estimated to be a 7 foot 160 pound sand tiger, along with 2 sandbars, 2 atlantic sharpnose, and killed some croaker. As Captain Monty Hawkins on the "Morning Star" does everyday he made a expedition to the offshore wrecks. He returned with a happy boat with almost everyone limiting out on black sea bass, and a few lucky anglers had keeper flounder. Our bay trips continue to run and prove to be successful. Captain Bob Gowar on the headboat the "Bay Bee" threwback 61 undersize flounder and found one of appropriate size on his morning trip, in his afternoon trip he had about 15 throwbacks. On the private bay fishing charter the "Get Sum" Captain Nick Clemente proves to be an expert at finding flounder, his charter reported too many throwbacks to count. JIMMY JACKSON SERVICE
"I never passed a hail."
by Will S. Hays
"Mate, get ready down on deck,
I'm heading for the shore;
I'll ring the bell, for I must land
This boat for evermore.
"Say, pilot, can you see that light --
I do -- where angels stand?
Well, hold her jackstaff hard on that,
For there I'm going to land.
"That looks like Death that's hailing me;
So ghastly, grim and pale;
I'll toll the bell -- I must go in;
I never passed a hail.
"Stop her! Let her come in slow;
There! That will do -- no more.
The lines are fast, and angels wait
To welcome me ashore.
"Say, pilot, I am going with them
Up yonder through that gate;
I'll not come back -- you ring the bell
And back her out -- don't wait.
"For I have made the trip of life,
And found my landing place;
I'll take my soul and anchor that
Fast to the Throne of Grace."
To our friend, Jimmy Jackson. You will be missed dearly. Rest in peace.
Services will be held, Tuesday, May 4, 2010 at the Community Church of Ocean Pines. The viewing is from 10AM - 1PM, the funeral will be held from 1PM - 2PM. In lieu of flowers, donations made to the Ocean City Reef Foundation for a reef in Jimmy's name are appreciated.
